frequently asked questions
Question If prints or printable files aren't included, what does the session fee cover?
Answer Traditionally, portrait photographers have charged a sitting or session fee, and prints are made available as separate purchases. The session fee covers our time and overhead for the shoot, the post-shoot processing of the images, and the creation of your online gallery.
Question What is meant by "licensing" and "licensed downloads"?
Answer Please remember that the images, even though they are of you, are the intellectual property of the photographer. Therefore the photographer must provide you with a license in order for you to make use of the image, such as having prints made by yourself or a third party, or uploading digital images to the Web
Once your portrait session is over with, we'll put a selection of images to your private proofing gallery, and send you the link. From there you can order prints in various sizes and in a selection of paper types directly from your proofing page. No minimum order is required.
Prices for prints, digital downloads, and other products are stated on each page of the gallery, and we think you'll find our prices to be competitive with other area professional photography studios. We have chosen to have prints made by MPix Pro, a professional lab which offers very high quality - much better quality than that provided by retail services such as WalMart, or what you can produce on your home printer - and great service. Three types of paper are available, and these are described in the price list. Mounting, matting, and framing options are available as well, as are showcase options including fine art prints (made on fine watercolor paper) and standouts (prints mounted on thick, lightweight Gatorfoam edged in black or white trim). We may add further products in the future, so stay tuned.
We are happy to make digital files available at the following rates:
